Regional Model Comparison: Mixing/Vertical Stratification in Chesapeake Bay

Title: Salinity and Temperature Simulations for the Chesapeake Bay by the CH3D Hydrodynamic Model
Abstract: The coupled CH3D hydrodynamic model and CE_QUAL_ICM water quality model have been used to assess water quality, such as dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll and water clarity, criteria attainment in the Chesapeake Bay estuary. The CH3D model provides forcing of transport in the estuary. The presentation will briefly describe the Chesapeake Bay hydrodynamic model, and present its simulations of salinity and temperature and compare the simulated seasonal verticle stratification with the field observations.
